This was a wedding i was looking forward from last 2 months. The energy to attend doubled after getting new silk saree from Mysore (This saree is proclaimed the replacement of the "kalyanathinu kayyil thanna" yellow and maroon saree ,which tore a couple of years ago) .Attending weddings are more for 'my' pleasure than anything else. It would mean dressing up,wearing the jewelry which seldom gets to get sunkissed and getting some uninterrupted time with family. Good food is a bonus !Now that family functions have become rare, every oppurtunity is priceless. 

The wedding invite came few weeks earlier and the date was "marked", in my calendar, in my mind. November was packed with a Hyd trip, kerala trip for utsavam and then this wedding. Lekha chechi, Bobby chettan and amma travelled here the day before (Friday) .Stay was arranged on the farmhouse.Neethu ,Subi chettan and Sheela chechi joined them. Mehandi function , dancing it was lots of fun. The cold night turned warm . We missed it - didnt plan plus work meetings. 

We drove there in the morning, leaving Appu at home. Started with a buffet breakfast and what i thought would ended up seeing a busy me. Krishnambika (Polothil) aparently was the groom's ammai . I was meeting her after like 30 years . It was a pleasant surprise , seeing her, uncle , aunty and Krishnanand who was a tiny kid back then ! 

Next surprise came when i met Brijesh. His mother was also a close relative of the groom's mother. Met another ex-chinmaya tripunithura chettan and his wife an infoscion. Clicked some pics amidst watching the extravagant bengali-malayali wedding , dreaming of Cheeku's wedding in a farmhouse setup. Sumptous lunch, return gift and it was time to return. Lekha chechi and chettan came home. Appu had his informal 12th social and he was getting ready for it. We clicked some pics, they stayed overnight and next day flew back to Kochi !


Weddings be like this - in open air, with few chosen family, friends and well wishers , lots of pictures, great food and memories to cherish , needless to say the flowers, foto booths everything was well set !

Of colors and retail therapy..

After a 2 (or 3 ? )month break from blogging i am back..a ten day vacation to Jaipur and delhi during pooja holidays,"maid" void days and such had made me extremely busy. Still when i sit back and relax for a while during the busy days, i do think of my little blog space. Jaipur is an enchanting place with large forts, bazaars and streets full of colorful handicrafts,rajai, camels and of course bangles. I became crazy when i saw the streetside choodiwala and became contented only after buying 10 dozens of  bangles, made of cut glass and mud. I wonder how many days they would with me intact still it was my big wish to buy some of those and i did ! I cannot recollect when my love for Gujju and Rajasthani handicrafts began but i know i love them lots.Love the bright colors and the awesome combinations.In the scorching heat, most of the desi Rajasthanis looked a tired lot ,carrying water and making rotis all the time but their ideas and skills are a class apart. Quack quack, when the earth shakes...

We were munching on those chicken legs when my phone rang. It was Merly. She was out of CPP building and called to enquire if we had experienced an earth quake. My belief is that india ,esp bangalore, never had/would have one ! So i smiled away saying i am out of office and having fun with teammates at Barbeque Nation. Parties have been a culture at corporates and off late though we were devoid of company sponsored quaterly project parties, onsite guys were kind enough to sponsor one. It was first time for me in this place, so i was still wondering at the Barbeque arrangement on each table, the corporate crowd and so on. Prawns, chicken and fish lay on the barbeque for us.Another few minutes and my cell rang again. It was another friend from office, to enquire if we experienced an earthquake.
