RBD Onam 2023

And grand it was ! Not as much as the full day celebration in 2022 but still grand it was. There was an air of cultural richness and vibrance on Sep 16-17, about 3 weeks after the Thurvonam Day 2023. The pre onam shoot a week before was another highlight this time. Sree did the shoot in his newly bought S22 Ultra and with Roshla's reel ideas, it came out nice. Ladies can get dressed up even at 6 am in kerala attire when it comes to pictures ! Sponsorships were very less this time. The menfolks who used to drive this were less this time but culturals were in full swing. But we still managed to put up a good show. Pancharimelam team was brought

Plight with Panic attacks..

The episodes of panic attacks, sometimes small and at other times intense, reminds me that i havent met my doctor at Sakra Even after being on brain shutdown medication for more than 4 years, i havent recovered and it doesnt seem possible. I dread shaving my head off and being on the operation table for brain surgery but eventually thats what it looks to be. I had resigned from Accenture in August with plans to stay in SVYASA Yoga center for a month and do treatment but after a month, i took it back (Money it is !) I thought of doing ayurveda treatment at Kottakkal but didnot even consult a doctor there. There is no one who cares about me or wants to take initiative for my treatment, except an advise from mother in law that i inherited the wrong genes from mother and that bald is a new style, worry not from the husband. Amma cares but she forgets. No one really understands (or want to understand) what i am going through or what this means.

Powered by girls - Trip to Vietnam and Cambodia

July 21 -Friday. The much awaited trip ! My first personal international trip. It was expensive but Sree agreed to give dollars which would cover food and shopping. Since it was Shalini's meticulous planning, I was more than 100% certain, nothing would go wrong. It was the week after kid's birthday (there were no big celebrations but as a mother it is nice to see them grow and reach milestones) and i applied for a week's leave. July 21, Accenture had an annual party at Leela Palace. After a quick lunch, i headed to the Bangalore International Airport, met Shalini and Leeja (Shalini's bestie) and soon we 3 became a good travel trio. Shalini's reel ideas began right when the journey commenced and we went back in time, like school kids. We had got a customised T-shirt which read 'Caution : Girls Trip In Progress', so almost everyone who could read English noticed us in the airport and in the flight. After a brief overlay in Calcutta, we landed in Hanoi in the ...

Women's Day 2023 Scribble

Happy Women's Day !! Lots of wishes floating around on Social Media and at work. Instead of sharing challenges and how they have been overcome, today want to share an introspection and few mistakes in life. Body Shaming Experiences and complexes: There was no term "body shaming" three decades back, during my teenage but today i clearly know that is what i went through. I only remember hearing comments from some relatives about dark skin complexion and such. My sub conscious mind turned them into a complex but instead of becoming depressed, i focussed on studies so i could be teacher's pet. And it worked! My teacher's gave me oppurtunities to be part of school's cultural events, give assembly speeches and all this boosted my self esteem. When i got into one of the prestigious engineering colleges, it gave me more confidence to do something with life. I never wore dresses, skirts or jeans which teens love to. Even during my first few months on job, i managed with...

Two decades of career , Awe feeling !

It gives me immense happiness to have completed two decades in the IT industry. Work is worship and to this date, i have followed that. Being Human: We work with humans and no Robots. It goes a long way in learning to empathise , showing willingness to extend support, listen,  share accolades and build a positive, not a competitive culture. People can forget everything else but they do remember how you made them feel. Don’t be afraid to Test/Experiment :   Working with some of the best global companies, if there is one thing in common which sets high performers apart is their ability to dive deep and willingness to experiment …there is no comparison to getting hands dirty, understanding nuts and bolts in order to bring quality to processes and value to business. It is hard work but then you need to run the mile to gain the experience. Even a failed experiment is worth much more than opinions , including your own. Acknowledge you will never be the smartest one on the team ...

Memerising, enchanting, enthralling Meghalaya - tick off item from the bucket list

One tick off the bucket list... My urge to visit the north east has been going on from a few years now. In July-August this year, i heard from 2-3 of my friends so got confirde. After 2 months of convincing and many back and forth emails with travel group Thrillophilia, finally  Day 1and Day 2 -Shillong (Cafe Shillong bread and breakfast - Decent place) Day 1 : Blr Guwahati - Brahmaputra River - Stay in Shillong center, get a glimpse of Umiam Lake, explore Shillong street market by walk, try local food. Evenings very bad traffic jam , small roads, better to rent small car. Day 2 : Start to Dawki (long drive from Shillong, so start early) .very scenic route can stop for pictures on the way. Carry some food as restaurants may be scarce. take a boat ride in Umngot river, then a quick walk to India- Bangladesh border and way back visit waterfalls. Come back to Shillong and overnight stay in same place. Day 3 - Head to elephant falls (half an hr i think ) and after that head to So...
