2024 Recap

 As another year rolls by, the one thing i have amassed is undoubtedly gratefulness - For not having fallen sick or bedridden or hit by cyclone or met with an accident or stranded on an unknown street. Grateful for the little bounties of happiness: 

pleasure of dancing - Methil Devika concert in Feb, the many monthly meetups 'Arangu that i coordinated at Kalaanjali and the dance year culminating with Annual Day 'Shakti" where i was part of semi classical dance 'Thaye Yashoda'. For Dusseshra , i did a with few other ladies under Shamil's choreography and it was well appreciated.

rasika joy - attended many carnatic concerts in person - Sandeep Narayan,Malladi Brothers, Akkarai sisters, Dr Ramaprasad and many online ones too Finding Nadasurabhi and Ranjani Fine Arts was a blessing.

Retail therapy- Shopping for Cheeku college and my teeny tiny online shopping including 2 kurta from Shrishti collections, near poornathrayeesha temple.

Movies-  opening of PNR felicity fuelled the movie lover in us and the children's studies near came in our way. watched lot of good movies, 2 very touching ones being Goatlife and Amaran

Trips - The great european trip with family (Venice Rome,Swiss and Paris) was fabulous. The Alps, Swiss life, love tower of Paris, the canals of Rome and the narrow streets, and the grand churches of Rome. Everything was just awesome ! the good food at Kanchi, Baden by Ramesh chettan was lovely too.

Goa trip with Prisha, her mom and Cheeku. Stayed in Radisson and spend good time on the beach. Next time, i want to go to Goa with Sreettan.

Visited Tirupati and Guruvayoor in October and Poornathrayeeshan during the vrishchikolsavam. i felt lonely attending utsavam alone but bhagavan koodeyundallo !

And finally year end Kerala trip, a short trip to newly opened Forum mall and spending New year's eve in Koramangla amongst a mad crowd..all good 2024 !

Of colors and retail therapy..

After a 2 (or 3 ? )month break from blogging i am back..a ten day vacation to Jaipur and delhi during pooja holidays,"maid" void days and such had made me extremely busy. Still when i sit back and relax for a while during the busy days, i do think of my little blog space. Jaipur is an enchanting place with large forts, bazaars and streets full of colorful handicrafts,rajai, camels and of course bangles. I became crazy when i saw the streetside choodiwala and became contented only after buying 10 dozens of  bangles, made of cut glass and mud. I wonder how many days they would with me intact still it was my big wish to buy some of those and i did ! I cannot recollect when my love for Gujju and Rajasthani handicrafts began but i know i love them lots.Love the bright colors and the awesome combinations.In the scorching heat, most of the desi Rajasthanis looked a tired lot ,carrying water and making rotis all the time but their ideas and skills are a class apart. Quack quack, when the earth shakes...

We were munching on those chicken legs when my phone rang. It was Merly. She was out of CPP building and called to enquire if we had experienced an earth quake. My belief is that india ,esp bangalore, never had/would have one ! So i smiled away saying i am out of office and having fun with teammates at Barbeque Nation. Parties have been a culture at corporates and off late though we were devoid of company sponsored quaterly project parties, onsite guys were kind enough to sponsor one. It was first time for me in this place, so i was still wondering at the Barbeque arrangement on each table, the corporate crowd and so on. Prawns, chicken and fish lay on the barbeque for us.Another few minutes and my cell rang again. It was another friend from office, to enquire if we experienced an earthquake.
