V Day 2013

My first post this year....

Valentine's Day 2013 is over. As like last many years, this year too the promo started weeks before. Wonder how many crores were spend on gifts and flowers though my husband did not spend a penny. Starting from the early morning FM radio shows to newspapers to Facebook, every thing had the 'V' touch. While the poor wouldn't have known about this lovely 'love' day, i feel its JUST another day to celebrate for the affluent. JUST another time to pass time with friends, gift each other and . Let me be frank, its not the 'J' in my me that makes me write this, that is actually what happens. Needless to say, i would only be more than happy to have an add on in my collections.

Since past few years, i feel i should wear a nice red salwar on this day but then i would realise that i don't have a good one. This year when i had a red salwar ,my idea changed to having lunch with Sree (we don't even have dinner together these days because of his workload) but he said he couldn't spare even that one hour for me. And he added , why should there be a day to show love! (These kinda comments shut your mouth and i dislike them for more reasons than one). Even otherwise there are enough days in the year to loot spouse - anniversary, birthdays are just a few. Someone at office said she was going out with husband to celebrate their 15th engagement day or something. What a beautiful excuse to ask for a gift !

Most of my friends on FB had put up snaps of diamond rings and other gifts which & i could only pass "Like" comments at them and of course cherish my first Valentine's day after marriage(only one till date) when Sree got me a Barbie doll. It still remains one of my most priced possessions and the wait for next gift continues (you hearing me ?)
