First rhyme

Do you remember the first rhyme you learnt ? Perhaps Not.Neither do i. But i know some of the rhymes my 22 month old knows. Of course, she cannot sing ano of them completely. Not all words are clear to all and she often sings other words which sound similar to the original. After all, how can we expect her to understand the exact words she sings. I still remember how i used to pronounce Standatties...without knowing what it means until some time back i learnt the word is 'Stand at Ease' !!Sreya can sing some of the rhymes like "Twinkle twinkle","Ba ba black sheep","Johny Johny","Ding dong bell" and so on. We have taught her some malayalam songs and she can sing them too. Of late, i have started narrating her stories in english and she nods her head as if she understands every bit.At the end , i would tell her the story in malayalam and lo ! she is so happy !!
She forms small sentences and has started asking questions. She tries to speak what she observes 'like mom is making chappathis, dad is taking bath etc'. Its so nice to hear her put little words together and form sentences.
Yesterday she took my cell phone, dialled her dad's number and finished a whole conversation with him. She wanted him to come back from office and the conversation was very interesting. By the time i ran to grab the phone, she had neatly hung up.
She is naughty too and she knows every single thing that makes me scold her. So when she starts doing them.she looks around like the pussy who closes its eyes to drink milk. Everyday i swear not to scold her and leave her at her own will but end up scolding her, even beating her up.I hope she doesnt keep my little throws of anger in mind when she grows up. as a kid, i was very naughty too and remember the numerous beatings i got from mom. I even used to think she was my step mother. As a child, you never understand things fully, you see..
I often cherish the moments when my little darling was born, how i would dress her with kajal as an infant, how me and hubby would bathe her ,put her to sleep. When she was small, i used to carry her with the support of a pillow. She was a normal baby, not premature or early born but for me she was too tiny to catch barehand.Whenever i look at her, I wonder at God's creativity, how he makes every single human on earth. He is great. He takes us through the stages of life, through pains and gains. Small little changes happen almost everyday even without being noticed.Babies start smiling, flipping, crawling, sitting, walking, running, speaking and what not !! They do these little naughty things , i wonder who teaches them those !! Every time i look at her, think about my darling daughter's deeds and expressions, my heart fills with surprises and i bow before Almighty for having given me this huuuuuuuuuge bundle of joy :)
